TIME FLIES BY...

Let's see, here we are heading toward the middle of June and the last time that I posted was Abby's birthday in the middle of March. There must be something wrong with this picture. Oh well, as long as we update once a season we will be good right? The last few months have been a whirlwhind. I had six weeks off of work for maternity leave, that really felt like six days. have since started back to work, which has been a pretty smooth transition this time I might say. Things are working out in my favor and I am working day shift for the summer. This is much easier on my circadian rhythm, as Abby likes to eat every two hours during the daylight hours. Abby is growing like a weed, drinking straight cream I swear. She loves her mom and is a little angel when I'm around, no complaints. But, when I leave for work, let the screaming begin. Jason has had a number of days where his patients are tissue paper thin. She will only stop crying if he picks her up and holds her all day. So much for getting anything done around the house. However, just last week he found that if he puts a shirt that he has worn next to her face she will take more than just a catnap. Jason was very proud of himself for figuring that one out. She is a sweet little girl, she is just wrapping her daddy around her little fingers, knowing what she wants from the get-go. Jacob is comming up with new things every day. The thing I've really noticed the most is that he repeats everything that Jason and I say, no matter what we are talking about or who we are talking to. He also is right underneath Jason's feet as long as he is awake. He want's to be wherever dad is and to do whatever dad is doing. He is also our go boy. He does not like to be the one to stay at home if someone is going somewehere. It doesn't matter if you are going outside to the trashcan, or to the grocery store for milk, he wants to go too. It is rewarding and sad to watch him grow into a little boy, where did our baby go? Jason has been busy with the kids at home, managing the storage units and uhaul business and working on our property out in Alamo. Just this last week he had Lasik and PRK eye surgery. He developed an allergy to his contacts about a month ago. Jase has always wanted to do Lasik, so this was the perfect opportunity. The recovery process has gone very well. The doctor is quite supprised at how well and how fast his eyes are healing. Jason had a rough go for a couple of days post op with burning feeling in his PRK eye, but alas all is well. He says that his vision is improving more and more every day. He is quite pleased. All in all we are doing well and managing to keep busy.

BOUNCY BALL.......BOUNCY BALL

Who would have thought that bathtubs make a great place to play with a bouncy ball. Jacob and I played in the bathroom throwing the bouncy ball back and forth for about 15 min. He just laughed and laughed. It was so funny to watch him chase the ball around the tub.

JUST PLAYING

It's about nine-thirty, I just finished cleaning the house and Abby fell asleep in her bouncer on the counter, so since I have neglected taking pictures of her thus far I decided to try and figure out the settings on my camera for a few minutes.

I was attemping to do hand and feet shots, but with not much luck as you can see.

These are just a bunch of pictures from the last week or so. We just got back this week from Zach's graduation. It was definately a whirlwind weekend. So much to do and not enough time. I will post pictures from that later, because I don't have more than a couple of random shots, that aren't very good in the first place, Sorry Zach, and I need to round some up from those taking pictures better than I was.

I have a similar shot of Jacob at about this age.
My Mr. helper. He likes to help put Abby's binky back in her mouth.

Happy Birthday to Me. Thanks for the candles Jase. Next year the cake is going to start on fire.

Cool dudes...Jacob and Aunt Heather

The only family portrait available right now. I'm REALLY not doing well at the picture thing. Maybe this not so great picture will motivate me to schedule something.

ABBY'S BLESSING DAY

This was such a special day. All of Jason's family stayed with us in the house. It was quite the morning having everyone there getting ready. There is nothing that replaces the sounds of family being together for a special occasion. Jason woke up early that morning and made breakfast for everyone. He is such a good cook, husband, brother, son, and dad. The whole family was ready to go at 10:30, church started at 11:00. Aunt Jennifer helped to get Abby in her blessing dress. The blessing was beautiful and simple. We had a luncheon with our family and friends afterward. It's not a Jensen get together without delicious food. Jason used his smoker and made ribs and brisket. They were so flavorful and tender. We had grandma Jeannetta's baked beans, and grandma Susie baked three different cakes, Texas chocolate, White with strawberries, and carrot, all of wich were devoured with not a crumb to be picked at afterward. It was such a good time to get together as friends and neighbors to visit and celebrate the birth of Abby.

I have just updated the blog from November, whew what a job. Thank goodness for slow nights at work. That being said, Christmas and January are mostly missing. You'll have to look in the archives because I just blogged way too much to fit it all on one page right now. I promise I will be better and blog sooner, especially since our surprise baby is due here any time. I'm hoping I have only one to two weeks left even though there are three until my due date. I am really tired, my hips hurt, and I am ready to have my body back.

Ok, so here we go again. After a long period of no blogging, mostly because of lack of access to pictures, I am going to update the last three months....AGGGGHHHHH! It would be so much easier if I would just post things when they happen, but then I wouln't be Jessica if I didn't procrastinate. I really am trying to change.

Howdy....Howdy.....Howdy! My name is Jacob, and I think that this tackle hat is a cowboy hat. Jacob found this hat on Grandpa Jack's dresser and he wanted to wear it. He wore it outside all morning while working in the garden with dad. Isn't he a cute cowboy?

Surprise! Jason sent me flowers. This was very unexpected as I sat at the table in my pajamas helping Jacob make out his valentines to take to the neighbor friends. Thanks Jase, you are always so thoughtful.

What is some sugar cookie making without a little finger licking?

I'm really not a big valentines day person, but this year I decided to bake sugar cookies with Jacob and take them to our neighbor friends. Jacob also made out his own valentines for his babysitters and neighbor friends. Jason is at the sand dunes riding his Rhino, and having a good time I hope. He has not really taken it out since we bought it back in October, and this was a weekend that he could do it with some friends.

Jacob is at work! When Grandpa Jack is gone, Jacob will fill in, and he will take care of everything, even the cutting of the paper.

This is our cat Socks. He has been sleeping in this garbage can that is just outside our porch for weeks now. I personally thought this was very ammusing. I assume that it is warmer than anywhere else he could find.

We bought ourselves an eliptical! Jason was putting it together and Jacob naturally decided that daddy needed his expertice in this area. So, he plopped himself down right in front of where Jason was working and went to work himself.

Aunt Heather and Uncle Alan came to visit. Jacob just absolutely loved having them over. He thought they were his personal entertainment. They gave him every bit of attention that he demanded. Jacob loves to swing, so naturally he would love to swing in the blanket. I remember doing this when I was little with my dad. Jacob kept saying to Heather and Alan again...again...again.

This is Jacob and baby Macy. She is our good friends Mike and Danielle's daughter. I have been a little concerned throughout this pregnancy how Jacob is going to be with a new baby in the house, will he be gentle, loving, affectionate etc... This was a great experience for me to see him excited to hold Macy and to think she was cute. At one point she started crying and he said "don't cry baby it's ok you're not hurt", as he was patting her belly.
